영동군 농업기술센터가 위치한 곳은 적은 수의 민가로 이루어진 읍내 외곽 마을이다. 동서로 곧게 뻗은 영동로와 마을 북쪽을 둘러싼 성산은 마을의 경계를 이룬다. 새로 지어지는 농업기술센터 내 친환경종합분석실은 주변환경과 함께 어우러져 낮고 완만한 수평의 경관을 만든다.
농가의 가옥, 축사, 창고는 가장 지역적이고 경제적인 박공 형태의 건물로 지어졌다. 친환경종합분석실은 주변건물의 유형적 특성을

건축적으로 재해석하여 계획되었다. 박공구조와 내부 공간의 체계는 연구소 시설로 구획되기 용이하며, 향후 용도변경시에도 탄력적인 대응이 가능하다.

The location of the Yeongdong-gun Agricultural Technology Center is on the outskirts of a small town consisting of a limited number of houses. Yeongdong-road, stretching straight from east to west, and the back mountain, surrounding the north of the village, form the boundaries of the town. The new building harmonizes with the surrounding environment, creating a low horizontal landscape.

The rural houses, barns, and warehouses are constructed in the most regional and economical form with gable roof. The new laboratory building is planned by architecturally reinterpreting the typical characteristics of surrounding buildings. The gable roof structure and the system of building are designed to be easily segmented for research facility purposes, allowing for sustainable and flexible adaptation in case of future changes in use.
